This newborn session was photographed entirely using natural window light inside my studio in Bend Oregon. My studio was intentionally designed to feel soft, calm, and organic, very much like stepping into a warm home environment rather than a traditional photography studio.

My goal is always to create a space that mirrors an in home newborn session while still offering the comfort and ease of a controlled studio setting. The natural light that fills the studio creates a soft and gentle glow that is especially flattering for newborn skin and helps preserve the honesty and purity of each moment.

The dress worn by mom is from my curated studio wardrobe collection. Each piece is soft flowing fabrics, neutral tones, and timeless silhouettes that photograph beautifully in natural light. I offer a variety of organic cotton, linen, flowy and lace options. However, you are always welcome to bring your own attire.

For newborns, I also provide carefully chosen wraps, layers, and handmade knit textures that keep baby comfortable while maintaining an organic and minimal aesthetic. Everything is designed to feel natural, soft, and connected to the overall look of the session.

This session also includes some of my favorite studio elements, including handmade knit blankets and a woven basket bassinet. These props are chosen very intentionally. They add warmth and texture while still keeping the focus on simplicity and connection.

When to book your newborn session

It is always best to reserve your newborn session during your second or third trimester. This ensures your due date is saved on my calendar and guarantees availability during that important window, as I only take a limited number of newborn clients each month to avoid overbooking and to allow for flexibility once babies arrive on their own unique timing.

Once your baby is born, you simply reach out to me to let me know, and we will finalize your session date. I typically recommend scheduling newborn photos around the two week mark, as this is often when babies are still very sleepy and naturally curl into those early newborn positions. However, this timing is not a requirement. Every baby is different, and I always work with your baby’s arrival, needs, and comfort to choose the best possible session date for your family as well as your healing process.
